Aurora Kit Firefly XL Octa diam. 120cm silver for Balcar

Aurora Firefly XL Octa 120 cm Silver Kit for Balcar FXL120SBA

The Aurora FXL120SBA kit contains a Firefly XL octa softbox, 120 cm in diameter, with silver interior and a built-in adapter ring for Balcar flash heads, together with an inner diffuser, an outer diffuser and a carrying bag. Firefly XL can give both a beauty dish effect and an octa bank effect: the beauty dish gives crisp light, attractive catchlights and deeper shadows, while the octagonal softbox gives softer, more forgiving, wrap-around light with good shadow detail, for use as a main or fill light. The central rod has a removable extension, so the deflector can be mounted closer to the light source for different effects.

Thanks to its one-touch umbrella mechanism, Firefly XL sets up like an umbrella in about a minute, and the built-in speedring saves the time needed to assemble a softbox with a separate speedring. It comes with two diffusers, inner and outer: the light bounces from the diffusers back into the softbox and then out through the diffusers again onto the subject, giving very even light that also works well as fill light for outdoor portraits. The optional DFS20 deflector (20 cm, sold separately) mounts on the central rod and reflects the light back into the softbox, removing potential hot spots; its embossed silver surface gives more even reflected light.
