The AJA KONA X is a 4-lane PCIe 3.0 video I/O card designed for next-generation AI and AR workflows, with two full-size bidirectional 12G-SDI BNC connections and two full-size HDMI 2.0 connections, one input and one output. Support for GPUDirect RDMA, in applications that use it, lets video move directly between the I/O and the computer buffer for the lowest possible latency, which is crucial for live sports, virtual production and eSports.

It supports 4K/UltraHD, 2K/HD and SD with 10-bit 4:2:2 and 12-bit 4:4:4, HDR10, HLG, PQ and Dolby Vision, a hardware downstream keyer and VESA HDMI formats. This is the fanless (passive) version for sound-sensitive environments: precautions should be taken to keep the card temperature below the maximum levels. The optional KONA Xpand board adds reference, LTC, RS-422, AES/EBU and analog audio.
