AJA openGear OG-FiDO 4-channel 12G-SDI single-mode fiber transceiver 2 Tx/2 Rx

AJA OG-FiDO-4X-12G

AJA OG-FiDO-4X-12G is a four-channel 12G-SDI/single-mode LC fiber transceiver, 2 Tx/2 Rx card for openGear frames, part of the OG-FiDO-4 family of high-density SDI/fiber converters for broadcast, production, sports, live events, house of worship, campus installations and Pro AV. It combines two 12G-SDI-to-fiber transmit paths and two fiber-to-12G-SDI receive paths on a single card for simultaneous bidirectional conversion, using one AJA FIBERLC-2TX-12G and one AJA FIBERLC-2RX-12G SFP module.

All four SDI BNC connections are independent and fully isolated, so different supported SDI data rates can be carried at the same time. Automatic data rate detection and reclocking maintain signal integrity, and SDI ancillary data, including HDR metadata, passes transparently. Each card occupies two openGear slots, allowing up to 40 SDI/fiber channels in one frame; status is monitored remotely with openGear DashBoard and locally with the Input Present and SMPTE Lock LEDs. In a typical AJA workflow, 12G-SDI camera or production signals travel over single mode fiber for distances up to 10 km, with AJA FiDO Mini-Converters providing the corresponding conversion at the other end.

Key features

• Four independent, fully isolated SDI channels on BNC
• Up to 40 SDI/fiber channels in a single openGear frame
• Different supported SDI data rates can be carried simultaneously
• Automatic SDI data rate detection and reclocking
• HDR video support and pass-through of SDI ancillary data, including HDR metadata
• ASI signal transport over fiber
• Remote monitoring via openGear DashBoard software
• Input Present and Input SMPTE Lock LEDs on the card
• Hot-swappable; rear I/O card included

Compatibility

• openGear frames, such as the AJA OG-X-FR, and frames from certified openGear partners
• openGear DashBoard software (Windows, macOS, Linux)
• AJA FiDO Mini-Converters for single mode fiber at the other end of the link
• Current AJA FIBERLC TX and RX SFP modules

Notes

• The OG-FiDO-4 family has nine configurations; in the 12G single mode group this card is the 12G-SDI/single-mode LC fiber transceiver, 2 Tx/2 Rx, alongside the four-channel transmitter (T) and receiver (R) versions. T = transmitter (SDI to fiber), R = receiver (fiber to SDI), X = 2 Tx/2 Rx.
• An openGear frame is required and sold separately; the card uses two frame slots.

In the box
