Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K – 4K Micro Four Thirds cinema camera
Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K brings cinematic images to a handheld camera: a 4K Four Thirds sensor with 13 stops of dynamic range and dual native ISO up to 25,600, an active Micro Four Thirds mount, Blackmagic RAW recording to SD UHS-II, CFast 2.0 cards or USB-C disks.
What the Pocket Cinema Camera 4K is for
It is Blackmagic Design's entry level cinema camera: it suits short films, documentaries, music videos, weddings and web content, and people moving from a stills camera to a real cinema camera. The MFT mount takes many lenses, also with adapters.
Formats and recording
It shoots 4K DCI up to 60 fps, Ultra HD up to 60 fps, 2.8K anamorphic and up to 120 fps in 2.6K and HD. It records to 1 CFast 2.0 slot, 1 SD UHS-II slot and the USB-C port for external disks.
Connections and use
5" 1920 x 1080 touchscreen, HDMI output up to 1080p60, mini XLR audio input with phantom power, 3.5 mm stereo input, built in stereo microphone, Canon LP-E6 batteries.
Software
Every Blackmagic camera includes DaVinci Resolve Studio, the editing, grading, effects and audio software used in film and television, which reads Blackmagic RAW files directly.
Pocket 4K or Pocket 6K G2?
Pocket 6K G2 has a larger 6K Super 35 sensor and EF mount, with more detail and a more cinematic depth of field; Pocket 4K uses more compact lenses and costs less.
