The Datavideo DVK-400 is a professional broadcast-grade live chroma key processor working at resolutions up to 2160p60 over 12G-SDI or HDMI 2.0, with 4:4:4 10-bit internal processing. It keys standard green and blue backgrounds, and with features such as Open Angle and the automatic chroma key mode it can also handle colours that differ from the standard. Its algorithm copes with difficult subjects such as water, smoke, blonde hair and shadows.

After keying, a post-processor adjusts brightness, contrast, colour and saturation to match foreground and background. Matte control and automatic spill adjustment refine the edges, a holdout mask excludes areas from the key, and an aux luma key with layer swapping lets the talent move in front of or behind virtual objects. A mirrored preview output lets the subject see the composite in real time. It is controlled from a Windows app and can be used with the TPC-700 touch panel.
