The deep, almost round Hensel Grand softboxes give noticeably more three-dimensional light than typical octa versions. For even more distinctive lighting, Hensel developed the Bounce Adapter, a special stand mount with integrated speed ring that allows Hensel compact flashes and flash heads to be mounted indirectly in the Grand softboxes. This gives more brilliance, better shadow definition and higher light output than direct mounting with the usual speed ring, turning the Grand softboxes into giant reflectors that can also be used without front and inner diffusers.

Developed and made in Germany, the Bounce Adapter is mechanically very sturdy. A removable bar allows the whole unit to be precisely aimed and balanced with a counterweight or weight bag (eyelet integrated), which is especially helpful with the Grand 190 or Octabox 200. The integrated tilt head mounts on professional lamp stands with a 28 mm spigot and also has a 16 mm socket for smaller stands. Besides the Grand 90, 120 and 190, it also takes the Hensel Octabox 120, 150 and 200.
