Magewell Modator 2U

The Magewell Modator 2U brings the reliability and low latency of Magewell standalone encoders and decoders to a high-density, modular rackmount form factor. The 2U chassis fits standard rack deployments and takes up to 10 Modator modules, freely combinable and hot-swappable: Ultra Encode streaming encoders, Pro Convert NDI encoders and Pro Convert NDI and IP decoders. Each installed module works independently, converting video and audio to and from NDI and other IP streams.

Two hot-swappable power supply modules provide redundancy and, together with the centralized cooling design, allow stable 24/7 operation. The front LED touchscreen powers the chassis on and off, shows the status of the chassis and of each slot and module, logs and alerts, and lets you set the network; a Web UI and HTTP APIs provide full management of chassis and modules, which can also be registered in Magewell Control Hub.

Notes

• Modules are sold separately; unused slots must be fitted with blank panels.
• Each module needs its own Ethernet cable and signal cables; the chassis Ethernet port is used to configure the chassis.
• Both power supply modules must be installed and connected to the mains for safe operation.
• Rack installation requires L-shaped rails (not included); the chassis must be grounded with a grounding cable (not included).
