Manfrotto 496 Centre Ball Head with Top Lock Plate MH496-Q6
The Manfrotto 496 Centre Ball Head with Top Lock plate is a portable yet strong aluminium head for smooth, precise camera positioning, with a payload of up to 10 kg, suitable for mirrorless cameras with zoom lenses and DSLRs. It has three independent controls: a main knob for the ball lock, an integrated friction control knob that adjusts ball tension to balance the equipment, and an independent panoramic knob that keeps the horizon level when panning.
It mounts the Arca-Swiss-compatible MSQ6PL sliding plate with Top Lock: the camera is inserted from above rather than from the side, and a safety mechanism engages with the plate to stop the equipment from sliding out. Three bubble levels, one for each axis of rotation, help produce straight images in camera.
