Novoflex Universal Spacer Plate PLATTE-U

If the lens hood of a fisheye or wide-angle zoom lens, or its bayonet when the hood is not fitted, touches the clamping plate, the camera screw must not be tightened: this would put great pressure on the camera body and could damage the camera or lens. In this case a spacer plate such as the Novoflex PLATTE-U is needed; alternatively a battery grip can be used. The problem only arises with very compact cameras such as the Canon EOS 550D or 600D; professional models are taller and not affected.
