Novoflex VR-System SLANT Panorama System for Spherical Panoramas from a Monopod VR-SLANT

The Novoflex VR-System SLANT is designed for extremely fast spherical panoramas from a monopod. "Slant" means tilt: to make the most of the fisheye lens's angle of view, the camera is mounted rotated by 60° from the horizontal and additionally tilted upwards by up to 15° (individually adjustable), so that no separate zenith shot is needed. Two scaled clamping plates with dovetail profile and the matching clamps allow reproducible rotation around the entrance pupil of the lens (the so-called "nodal point").

With an 8 mm fisheye lens only 3-4 shots are needed for an almost seamless spherical panorama (360° x 180°) in just a few seconds. Working from a monopod also has many advantages: little effort, quick changes of position, and you hardly disturb anyone or attract attention. This makes the nodal point adapter ideal for travel and reportage photography.

Notes

• Not suitable for ordinary wide-angle or ultra-wide-angle lenses (lenses without "Fisheye" in the name). With lenses with a narrower angle of view (e.g. 15/16 mm full frame fisheyes) 6 shots are needed instead of 4; Novoflex then recommends a tripod with a 60° indexed panorama plate.
