Rupert Neve Designs RNHP Precision Headphone Amplifier
The RNHP is a dedicated reference headphone amplifier based on the headphone circuit of the 5060 Centerpiece desktop mixer. It has three inputs, each calibrated for the right level and impedance: a +4 dBu balanced line input on an XLR/TRS combo jack for professional equipment, an RCA input for -10 dBV consumer and prosumer devices, and a 3.5 mm stereo input for phones, computers and cameras.
Its high-power, high-headroom 24 V design drives headphones up to 600 ohm, and the near-zero output impedance of the direct-coupled amplifier ensures good translation with any headphones. A highly damped stereo potentiometer keeps left-right balance precise. The solid steel chassis protects connectors and level control, has rubberised feet and a VESA 100 mount; the unit is powered by the included 6 W supply or by a 24 V battery.
