The fastest USB SSD drives reach 800 MB/s and are often bus-powered, but many computers have older USB interfaces that throttle performance. The Sonnet Allegro USB-C 4-Port PCIe card adds four SuperSpeed+ 10 Gbps USB-C ports to a Mac Pro tower, Windows PC, Linux computer or Thunderbolt to PCIe expansion system, with transfers up to twice as fast as USB 3.0 and 7.5 W (3.0 A) of power per port for bus-powered USB-C devices.
Key features
- Four USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) Type-C ports
- Up to 7.5 W (3.0 A) per port
- Independent power regulation and resettable overcurrent fuses
- Supports storage, hubs and USB-IF compliant devices
- Hot-swappable connections
- Mac, Windows and Linux compatible
