When 10Gb Ethernet no longer provides enough bandwidth, for example in post-production shared storage, 25Gb Ethernet offers more performance over the same optical infrastructure. The Sonnet Twin25G PCIe Card adds fibre-optic 25GbE connectivity to the Mac Pro (2019) and any computer with PCIe slots, or to computers without slots via a free slot in a Sonnet Echo Thunderbolt expansion system. It also provides NVMe over Fabric (NVMe-oF) target offloads for efficient NVMe storage access without CPU intervention, and is backward compatible with 10GbE infrastructure.
