AJA KONA 5 12G-SDI PCIe 3.0 I/O Card
The AJA KONA 5 is an 8-lane PCIe 3.0 I/O card for demanding video and audio workflows in HFR 8K/UltraHD2, 4K/UltraHD, 2K/HD and SD, with Deep Color and HDR. It supports 4:2:2 10-bit and 4:4:4 12-bit color spaces, ingest and output over 12G-SDI and monitoring on a full-size HDMI 2.0 port, with 8K to 4K downsampling for 4K monitors. Four bidirectional 12G-SDI HD-BNC connections and a reference input sit on the card bracket and can be used in many configurations: four cables for 8K/UltraHD2 or quad 3G 4K/UltraHD, or single cables for 4K/UltraHD or HD input with simultaneous pass-through. HDR10, HLG, PQ and Dolby Vision are supported over SDI and/or HDMI (application dependent).
The KONA 5 ships with a breakout cable for 8 channels of AES/EBU input and output, RS-422 and LTC, and with five HD-BNC to full-size BNC cables. Dynamic FPGA firmware reconfiguration switches between an 8K personality and one for 4K and below in under 10 seconds. It works with AJA Control Room, Control Panel and the AJA SDK, and with Adobe Premiere Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, FilmLight, OBS Studio, vMix and more, on macOS (including Apple silicon), Windows and Linux. This model is powered from a 6-pin ATX connector rather than the PCIe slot.
