AJA openGear OG-FiDO 4-channel 3G-SDI multi-mode fiber receiver

AJA OG-FiDO-4R-MM

AJA OG-FiDO-4R-MM is a four-channel multi-mode LC fiber to 3G-SDI receiver card for openGear frames, part of the OG-FiDO-4 family of high-density SDI/fiber converters for broadcast, production, sports, live events, house of worship, campus installations and Pro AV. It receives four independent multi-mode LC fiber signals and converts them to four 3G-SDI BNC outputs, using two AJA FIBERLC-2RX-MM SFP modules.

All four SDI BNC connections are independent and fully isolated, so different supported SDI data rates can be carried at the same time. Automatic data rate detection and reclocking maintain signal integrity, and SDI ancillary data, including HDR metadata, passes transparently. Each card occupies two openGear slots, allowing up to 40 SDI/fiber channels in one frame; status is monitored remotely with openGear DashBoard and locally with the Input Present and SMPTE Lock LEDs. At the other end of the fiber link, AJA fiber products for the same fiber type, such as the FiDO Mini-Converters, provide the corresponding conversion.

Key features

• Four independent, fully isolated SDI channels on BNC
• Up to 40 SDI/fiber channels in a single openGear frame
• Different supported SDI data rates can be carried simultaneously
• Automatic SDI data rate detection and reclocking
• HDR video support and pass-through of SDI ancillary data, including HDR metadata
• ASI signal transport over fiber
• Remote monitoring via openGear DashBoard software
• Input Present and Input SMPTE Lock LEDs on the card
• Hot-swappable; rear I/O card included

Compatibility

• openGear frames, such as the AJA OG-X-FR, and frames from certified openGear partners
• openGear DashBoard software (Windows, macOS, Linux)
• AJA FiDO Mini-Converters for multi-mode fiber at the other end of the link
• Current AJA FIBERLC TX and RX SFP modules

Notes

• The OG-FiDO-4 family has nine configurations; in the 3G multi-mode group this card is the multi-mode LC fiber to 3G-SDI receiver, alongside the transmitter (T) and 2 Tx/2 Rx (X) versions. T = transmitter (SDI to fiber), R = receiver (fiber to SDI), X = 2 Tx/2 Rx.
• An openGear frame is required and sold separately; the card uses two frame slots.
