AJA ROI-DP DisplayPort to SDI Scan Converter with Region of Interest Scaling and DP Loop Through
ROI-DP is a scan converter that converts computer DisplayPort outputs to baseband video over SDI in a portable size, with Region of Interest scaling and aspect ratio and frame rate conversion. A direct DisplayPort loop-through lets it sit in-line, keeping the connection to an external monitor while extracting to SDI, and the reference input locks the SDI output for use throughout a production or facility. Audio can be taken from the 2-channel 3.5 mm analogue input or from 8 channels embedded in the DisplayPort input, and is embedded in the SDI output.
Connected via USB to a computer running the free Mini-Config application, it lets you select a Region of Interest interactively, removing interface clutter and menu bars, and control how it is scaled to the output resolution with AJA's scaling algorithms; aspect ratio and frame rate conversion are set with on-screen controls that show the incoming and outgoing formats. The Mini-Converter is small enough to fit behind a monitor, in a rack or on a camera rig, with a locking power connector and optional P-TAP battery power.
