The AJA Io X3 is a portable Thunderbolt video I/O device with 3G-SDI, HDMI and audio connections for HDR or SDR SDI and HDMI workflows up to 2K 60p. It supports all major NLE applications, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer and Apple Final Cut Pro, as well as streaming applications such as OBS Studio, vMix and Telestream Wirecast. Four bidirectional 3G-SDI BNC ports with 16-channel embedded audio allow multi-channel workflows, for example a four-camera program in OBS Studio, and the HDMI output can show a multiview of up to four channels on one screen.

It connects with a single Thunderbolt 3 cable, with a second Thunderbolt port for loop through to other devices. Analog audio I/O on a TASCAM-pinout DB-25 connector supports eight channels in, eight out or four in and four out, and a front 3.5 mm headphone jack with level control allows stereo monitoring. Reference input, LTC input and output and RS-422 machine control integrate the unit into larger productions. With AJA Control Room it supports HDR metadata capture and HDR auto playback detection. The compact design allows two Io X3 units to be rackmounted in 1RU. Power is supplied through a 4-pin XLR input from the included AC adapter or a battery.
