Blackmagic Design PYXIS 12K – 12K large format box cinema camera, L-Mount mount
PYXIS 12K is a box style digital film camera designed to be rigged your way: it has a 12K 12,288 x 8040 large format RGBW sensor with 16 stops of dynamic range and native ISO 800, L-Mount, two CFexpress Type B slots and side plates and mounting points to build the right rig for every production.
What the PYXIS 12K is for
It is designed for film, commercials, music videos and productions with gimbals, drones, cars or special rigs, where a compact configurable camera is more practical than a traditional body. It records Blackmagic RAW, with real time H.264 proxies for editing, and integrates with Blackmagic Cloud for sharing files.
Monitor, recording and connections
Built in 4" 1920 x 1080 touchscreen and USB-C port for the viewfinder or PYXIS Monitor; 12G-SDI output up to 2160p60; 2 CFexpress Type B slots and a USB-C port for external disks; 10G Ethernet; mini XLR audio input with phantom power and 3.5 mm stereo input; built in stereo microphone; BP-U batteries.
Software
Every Blackmagic camera includes DaVinci Resolve Studio, the editing, grading, effects and audio software used in film and television, which reads Blackmagic RAW files directly.
How to choose
PYXIS 6K has a 6K full frame sensor with dual native ISO (400 and 3200), better suited to low light and with lighter files; PYXIS 12K is the one when maximum resolution, reframing in post and 16 stops of dynamic range matter.
At emoc.com this product can be combined with the Blackmagic Design extended warranty.
