The Cambo RPS-255 is an RPS-205 repro column extended with a welded steel base for free-standing use, with baseboard. The Cambo RPS is a copy stand for cultural heritage digitisation. Its vibration-resistant motorised column is made of heavy-duty anodised aluminium and is a platform for the digitisation of flat objects. The motorised vertical column has extended movement controls and a finely geared movable camera arm with integrated levelling head (similar to the RPS-180), keeping camera and object perfectly parallel. The welded steel base, for free-standing use, carries a removable baseboard with a cavity for the optional LED panel. A vibration absorber inside the column eliminates camera shake within a fraction of a second, and two adjustable end stops (top and bottom) protect the camera and the objects. The RPS is an open system: it takes any repro camera up to 10 kg and can be combined with any light source.
Compared with the RPS-250, the RPS-255 includes the RPS-201 Smart Controller, which stores and retrieves numerous height settings and lets the operator add notes, for efficiency and repeatability in extensive archival projects.
