The Laowa 25mm f/2.8 2.5-5X Ultra Macro is a compact, versatile high-magnification macro lens, optimised for photography between 2.5x and 5x life size without extension tubes. It is designed for professional and amateur macro work, in the field or on indoor sets, and covers full-frame and APS-C sensors. This version has the Pentax K mount.

Unlike traditional 25 mm lenses, it offers an extended working distance of 45 mm at 2.5x and 40 mm at 5x, and its small barrel leaves enough room and light to illuminate the subject. The minimum focusing distance is just 17.3 cm at 5:1. The optical design of 8 elements in 6 groups, with one extra-low-dispersion element, delivers edge-to-edge sharpness and reduces colour fringing, while the wide-angle design gives more depth of field than long-focal-length macro lenses. Manual focusing allows precise control at close range. An LED ring light and a tripod collar are available as options.
