The Laowa 7.5mm f/2 has a focal length equivalent to 15mm in 35mm format and gives Micro Four Thirds users a 110° angle of view for ultra-wide shots, with very good optical performance and distortion control in a body only about 55 mm long. The fast f/2 aperture makes it well suited to astrophotography and to architecture and landscapes in low light, and its small size suits vlogging and lifestyle video such as weddings, travel and music videos, also on a gimbal or stabiliser. The MFT mount is compatible with Panasonic, Olympus and Blackmagic cameras.
The Lightweight version shares the optical design of the standard model and keeps a metal construction, but some materials have been replaced to bring the weight down to 150 g; it was designed specifically for drones and gimbals. It has no electronic connections, so aperture and focus are manual and no EXIF data is recorded.
