The Laowa 85mm f/5.6 2X Ultra Macro APO is a macro lens optimised for mirrorless cameras, with a 28.55° angle of view, and the smallest 2:1 full-frame macro lens on the market. Weight is always an issue in macro photography, especially in the field: at about 252 g and ø53 x 78 mm (Leica M version) it is easy to carry, and a compact lens also makes it easier to work with macro lights.

It reaches 2:1 magnification at a minimum focus distance of only 16.3 cm and still focuses to infinity, so it also works for portraits. The apochromatic design minimises chromatic aberration in both in-focus and out-of-focus areas, reducing post-processing, and internal focusing avoids bumping into the subject and keeps dust out of the lens.
