Laowa Venus Optics 12mm T2.9 Zero-D VV Cine Lens for Nikon Z

Laowa 12mm T2.9 Zero-D VV Cine Lens for Nikon Z

The Laowa 12mm T2.9 Zero-D VV Cine is an ultra-wide rectilinear lens for Vista Vision with a 122° angle of view and Laowa's "Zero-Distortion" design. It covers large-format cameras such as RED Raptor 8K VV (Ø46.31 mm) and ARRI Alexa LF Open Gate (Ø44.71 mm). Compared with the 12mm T2.9 Zero-D Cine it has a mirrorless design, a 77 mm front filter thread, a closer 14 cm minimum focus, dual metric/imperial scales and lower weight, and it can be used on the DJI Ronin 4D. This version has the Nikon Z mount.

Near-zero distortion keeps lines straight when filming architecture, interiors and scenes with straight lines, with no correction needed in post, and simplifies tracking and CGI compositing for visual effects. The 14 cm close focus gives more creative freedom, shallow depth of field and emphasised foregrounds. Sharpness is high from centre to edge with well-controlled chromatic aberration. Its compact size suits gimbals, drones, handheld work and rigs, and the front thread takes ND, polarising or UV filters without a matte box.
