The Laowa 17mm f/4 GFX Zero-D offers a 113° angle of view, equivalent to a 13.5 mm on 35 mm format given the 0.79x crop factor of the GFX medium-format sensor, for landscapes, interiors, architecture and astrophotography. According to Laowa it was the first and widest native lens for the Fujifilm G-mount mirrorless medium format. It delivers high resolution in the centre and at the edges, with details at the borders well preserved even on the 102 MP sensor of the GFX 100.
21 elements in 14 groups, including 2 aspherical and 3 extra-low dispersion elements, minimise distortion and chromatic aberration: distortion is close to zero, keeping straight lines straight in architecture and interiors. Despite the ultra-wide view, the lens has an 86 mm front filter thread; alternatively a magnetic filter holder takes up to two 100 mm wide filters without vignetting at any rotation angle. The 5-blade aperture produces pleasant sunstars.
