Laowa Venus Optics 24mm T14 2X PeriProbe Cine Lens for Arri PL

Laowa 24mm T14 2X PeriProbe Cine Lens for Arri PL

The Laowa 24mm T14 2X PeriProbe develops the Probe concept for even more original shots. It keeps everything that made the Probe unique, with a 40 cm tubular barrel, 2:1 maximum magnification, waterproof front barrel and LED ring, and adds a periscope lens with an 85° angle of view and 2 cm minimum focusing distance. The front barrel can be swapped to change between periscope (90°) and direct (0°) view, and the optics can rotate 360° on their axis, unlocked by a friction mechanism. The end of the periscope barrel has a 1/4" female thread for accessories.

The 85° view at just 2 cm creates a true "bug eye" perspective that immerses the viewer in the scene, and the wide angle with a T14 - T40 aperture range gives greater depth of field at close range than macro telephoto lenses, showing more of the subject's natural environment or studio background. The long barrel reaches into tight spaces such as holes in trees, Lego houses or between candles on a cake, and keeps a safe distance from wildlife, while the waterproof front barrel allows shots just below the water surface without a housing. Typical uses include ground-level shots, side views, periscope shots looking up or down, 45° tilt-up views and rotating shots. This version has the Arri PL mount.
