The Mackie HR624mk2 is a two-way active studio reference monitor of the HRmk2 Series. The one-piece cast aluminium Zero Edge Baffle has a curvature that minimizes diffraction, while a passive radiator replaces the usual port to reproduce low frequencies with lower distortion and at higher SPL. Separate amplifiers for each driver, active crossovers and time-correction circuitry ensure highs and lows reach the listener at the same time, and protection circuitry guards against damaging input levels.

The internally braced wood cabinet uses open-cell foam to absorb internal reflections and standing waves. Each monitor is tested and calibrated in an environmentally controlled chamber. A white and red power and overload LED and a rotatable logo, for vertical or horizontal placement, complete the design; it is suited to studios as well as home theatre and gaming systems.
