Promise Pegasus5 R12 32TB (8 x 4TB HDD) Thunderbolt 5
The Promise Pegasus5 R12 is a 12-bay desktop tower RAID storage system for digital media creators, connected over Thunderbolt 5 at 80 Gbps (also USB4 v1/v2 with PCIe tunnelling). It holds twelve 3.5" SATA hard drives with easy front access for rapid disk replacement, scales up to 288 TB raw (12 x 24 TB) and delivers up to 3,000 MB/s, for multi-stream 4K, 6K and 8K editing as well as audio, photography and digital art storage.
It uses the PromiseRAID hardware RAID engine with RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60, hot spare and hot swap, and Predictive Data Migration (PDM), which periodically analyses the drives to anticipate problems and migrates data before a failure occurs. Two downstream Thunderbolt 5 ports can drive up to three 4K, two 6K or one 8K monitor, and the host port provides 85 W power delivery. When the host sleeps, shuts down or the Thunderbolt connection is removed, the unit enters an energy-saving mode.
