The sE2300 is the multi-pattern version of the sE2200 condenser microphone, known for its smooth, polished sound on vocals, voiceovers and instruments. A 3-position switch on the rear selects omnidirectional, cardioid or figure-8 pattern, giving control over the balance between direct and ambient sound.

Like its predecessors, it keeps the original capsule design, custom-built output transformer and class-A circuitry, now with modern components and a shorter, optimised signal path for lower noise and greater clarity. The hand-crafted 1" capsule is a true externally polarised condenser with gold-sputtered diaphragms, individually tuned in sE's own factory in Shanghai. The discrete class-A electronics use no integrated circuits. Two pads (-10 dB and -20 dB) extend the dynamic range for close-miking loud sources such as guitar amps, brass and kick drums, and two low-cut filters (80 Hz or 160 Hz) reduce rumble, footfall noise and proximity effect. The custom transformer adds depth and weight to the sound, while the all-metal housing rejects electrical interference. The XLR connector is gold-plated.
