The Supermicro SSG-540P-E1CTR36H is a 4U front- and rear-loading storage server barebone with a single LGA-4189 (Socket P+) socket for 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors with up to 40 cores and 270 W TDP, on the Intel C621A chipset. Eight DIMM slots accept up to 2 TB of DDR4-3200 ECC RDIMM/LRDIMM, with support for Intel Optane persistent memory. It holds 36 hot-swap 3.5" SAS3/SATA3 bays (24 front and 12 rear), managed by a Broadcom 3908 SAS controller with RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60, plus an onboard M.2 NVMe/SATA slot and optional rear 2.5" NVMe/SATA bays. Expansion includes two PCIe 4.0 x16 and two PCIe 4.0 x8 low-profile slots, with two 10GbE RJ45 ports (Intel X550) plus a dedicated BMC port, up to seven 80 mm fans with air shroud and redundant 1200 W Titanium power supplies.
