The Supermicro SSG-640P-E1CR24L is a 4U front-loading storage server barebone with two LGA-4189 (Socket P+) sockets for 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors with up to 38 cores each (up to 72 cores per node), on the Intel C621A chipset. Sixteen DIMM slots accept up to 4 TB of DDR4-3200 ECC LRDIMM/RDIMM, with two dedicated slots for Intel Optane persistent memory. It holds 24 front hot-swap 3.5" SAS/SATA bays, two rear hot-swap 2.5" bays and an onboard M.2 NVMe slot, with optional Broadcom 3808/3908 SAS controller support. Expansion comprises four PCIe 4.0 x16 low-profile slots, with two 10GBase-T ports (Intel X550) plus a dedicated BMC port for IPMI 2.0, KVM over LAN and Media over LAN, up to five heavy-duty 80 mm fans and redundant 1200 W Titanium power supplies.
