UltraStudio Express Monitor 3G is a pocket-sized video playback device for 3G-SDI and HDMI monitors, designed for editing, color grading and broadcast graphics on the go. UltraStudio Express Monitor 3G is the playback unit of the UltraStudio Express 3G family by Blackmagic Design: a compact, pocket-sized, output-only device built for broadcast-quality 10-bit monitoring on SDI or HDMI displays from editing software such as DaVinci Resolve or broadcast graphics applications, on Mac, Windows or Linux via a USB4 or Thunderbolt 4 connection.
It is fully bus-powered through the USB-C cable connected to the host computer, with no external power supply required, making it well suited to mobile or space-constrained editing and color correction setups that need an accurate external video reference.

Supported video standards
Via SDI: SD 525i59.94 and 625i50; HD 720p, 1080i, 1080PsF and 1080p up to 1080p60; 2K DCI in progressive and PsF formats up to 2Kp60 DCI. Via HDMI: SD 525i59.94 and 625i50; HD 720p, 1080i and 1080p up to 1080p60. Video sampling in 4:2:2 and 4:4:4, with color precision up to 12-bit RGB over SDI (up to 1080p30) and up to 12-bit YUV over HDMI. Color space support for Rec 601, Rec 709 and Rec 2020, with HDR compatibility (HDR metadata packages, HLG and PQ transfer characteristics) on both connections.
Software compatibility
Built on the DeckLink API, it is natively recognized by DaVinci Resolve, Fusion, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Character Animator, Avid Media Composer, Avid Pro Tools, Steinberg Cubase and Nuendo, along with numerous other editing, broadcast graphics and live production tools. Bundled software includes Media Express, Disk Speed Test, LiveKey, Blackmagic Desktop Video Utility and Blackmagic driver for macOS and Windows; on Linux, Media Express, Blackmagic Desktop Video Utility and driver.
